The full range

Every spray job, sorted.

From a small field spot-spray to a full boom application, TradieNotes keeps up with the range of jobs US crop spraying contractors actually run.

🌾State applicator certification

Anyone applying pesticides commercially in the US generally needs a state commercial pesticide applicator license — administered by each state's Department of Agriculture under the federal FIFRA framework, often with category-specific exams. Note your certificate/license details in your business profile for your own compliance records.

🚜Boom vs knapsack jobs

Tractor-mounted boom sprayers, self-propelled sprayers, and hand-held knapsack application all carry different EPA label and state requirements on operator competence and PPE. Note which method was used and it's captured correctly on the invoice.

📏Buffer-zone compliance

EPA-approved pesticide labels legally require buffer zones near watercourses and sensitive sites, and most states require spray records to be kept for at least two to three years. TradieNotes doesn't manage your spray record, but noting compliance details in your job notes helps keep your own file complete.

Crop Sprayer FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does it require a pesticide applicator license to use?+
No, TradieNotes doesn't check certification, but commercial pesticide applicators generally need a state-issued commercial applicator license (administered by your state Department of Agriculture under the federal FIFRA framework). Note your certificate/license number in your business details for your own records.
Can it price by hectare or by job?+
Yes. Note the area sprayed and your rate per hectare, or a flat job price, and it's captured and itemised whichever way you quoted the work.
Does it separate chemical/product costs from application labour?+
Yes. Pesticide product costs and application labour are read as separate line items when you describe them separately, useful for showing the client exactly what they're paying for.
Can it note pesticide buffer-zone compliance for a job?+
TradieNotes doesn't manage your spray plan, but you can note compliance details like buffer zones observed near watercourses (required under EPA pesticide label directions and state rules) in your job notes for your own spray record.
Does it handle boom and knapsack spraying jobs differently?+
Yes. Note whether the job was tractor-mounted boom spraying, self-propelled sprayer work, or hand-held knapsack application and it's captured correctly on the invoice.
What does a typical spraying job cost?+
Costs vary by crop, chemical, and area, typically priced per hectare — your invoice reflects whatever you actually charged for that job.
Can I invoice for a re-spray after weather washed off the first application?+
Yes. Note it as a re-spray or weather callback and it'll show $0 or a reduced rate as appropriate, keeping your records accurate.
Are the invoices sales-tax ready?+
Yes — every invoice itemises labour and materials and includes a Sales Tax line you fill in before exporting. Sales tax rules vary by state, so TradieNotes doesn\'t auto-calculate a rate for you.
Do I need an account?+
No account needed. Create one free to save your invoice history, or just snap and pay $2.
